Detective Wash

Michael Rapport

Everybody lies!

Yes, everybody.  In  my 15 years of experience as a detective in the major crimes unit, I can’t tell you how many times I caught someone in a lie when confronted by the police. They lie to either make themselves look good, downplay their roles, or hide their crimes. But everybody lies.

You might be telling yourself that only those who have something to hide lie. But aren't we all hiding something we don't want others to know?  We all lie for one reason or another, cops, witnesses, lawyers, even the victims.

Kids are the worst. They'd lie about the simplest things too, like who broke the lamp. Kids with a jaded past like Sara Doe are especially good liars. They'll lie to protect what little they deem important in their shattered world.

I know that little lady is lying about what happened to her parents, it's my job to find out the truth. I'm very good at my job.
