Little Girl Lost
“Run!”
The new moon lit the night in a brilliant display of
sliver shards against the velvet black. Underneath those peaceful skies the
wind was high, ripping leaves from trees that danced violently to the ground.
Slivers of light speckled through the dense forest this late hour as Wako’s daughter ran frantically through the underbrush, crunching the thick, tangled mesh with each wild foot fall.
The forbidding roar of the wind and looming shadows only enhanced her feeling of dread as hot tears fell from the girl's eyes hindering her sight on this moonlit night. She rushed deeper into the darkness, fear driving her through the thick forest. She ducked under low line limbs and pushed through
The mysterious fathoms hiding in the forest enhanced her fear and drove her down the
steep incline, tripping over thick roots and large rocks on her frenetic journey down the mountain.
She didn’t know where she was going or where
she would end up; all Wako’s daughter knew was that she couldn’t go back.
