The Begining

  Little Girl Lost

“Run!”
The new moon lit the night in a brilliant display of sliver shards against the velvet black. Underneath those peaceful skies the wind was high, ripping leaves from trees that danced violently to the ground. Slivers of light speckled through the dense forest this late hour as Wako’s daughter ran frantically through the underbrush, crunching the thick, tangled mesh with each wild foot fall.

The forbidding roar of the wind and looming shadows only enhanced her feeling of dread as hot tears fell from the girl's eyes hindering her sight on this moonlit night. She rushed deeper into the darkness, fear driving her through the thick forest. She ducked under low line limbs and pushed through bushy shrubbery that slashed her skin.

Wako’s daughter’s heart raced as she ran like the rising shear force gales. It’s getting harder to breath and her legs burned with exhaustion when a sudden howling breeze wafted passed. It stung her nose with the strong scent of smoke which only hastened her escape.

The mysterious fathoms hiding in the forest enhanced her fear and drove her down the steep incline, tripping over thick roots and large rocks on her frenetic journey down the mountain.

She didn’t know where she was going or where she would end up; all Wako’s daughter knew was that she couldn’t go back.
