Kingeye

Gordon Tootoosis

"Only the Great Spirit can know her purpose."

My name is  Kingeye of the Paint Clan.

I'm an elder and a shaman, keeper of the mystic, among the First People. In the white man's Concrete World, you would call me a medicine man. However the  ancestral wisdom I hold has been handed down from shaman to shaman for twelve centuries.

Knowledge of one's clan and culture is important for many reasons. If a person doesn't know their ancestral history, their spirit is left to wonder it's purpose. They will never know who they are, so how can they honor the ancestors.

For a Skinwalker this connection with our ancestors is paramount. It connects us to Mother Earth, without it  we can become open to the Witchery Way.

This child does not know our ways, she has not honored the ancestors, culture, or spirituality of the First People.  Her spirit wanders, attached to the Concrete World instead of planted with Mother Earth.

Many will be afraid that Sara Doe is under the power of the Witchery Way. That perhaps she was not brought back to the clan in time?

She is of age to perform the Kinaalda, perhaps that will  dispel any doubts in the minds of the people. My hope is that it will be enough to prevent her shunning.

But I have seen in a vision, that this Sara Doe's spirit is strong. Perhaps  her encounter with the First People will be our undoing.
